ZEISS Otus 100mm f/1.4

Zeiss has just announced the new Otus 1.4/28 (28mm f/1.4 Distagon T*) lens today. Available for Canon EF mount and Nikon F mount. The price for this lens is not yet announced, will be shipping in the second quarter of 2016. Zeiss said this lens is “The world’s best wide-angle lens.” High-res sample images are available at Flickr.

Zeiss Otus 28mm f/1.4 (Otus 1.4/28) wide-angle prime lens designed for full-frame DSLR cameras listed with a price tag of $4,990 at B&H. The ZEISS Otus 1.4/28 ZF.2 for Canon EF and ZEISS Otus 1.4/28 ZE for Nikon F mount will be available worldwide by the end of February, 2016.

This is the widest lens currently available in the Otus line which also has 55mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4 offerings. These Otus lenses have very limited users due to the cost and the fact that they’re manual focus only.
ZEISS announces Otus 1.4/28, third lens for Otus series. German optical manufacturer ZEISS has announced it is to add a wide angle to its Otus family of lenses designed for full frame SLR cameras. The ZEISS Otus 1.4/28 is a 28mm lens with a maximum aperture of F1.4, and will be available with ZE and ZF.2 mounts for Canon EOS and Nikon F cameras.
